Get "streaming" playlist, but play local files? Via jellyfin.

I random found this project today. Looks really nice. Quickly vibecoded an extension to stream files from a selfhosted Jellyfin server. Not tested yet.

But it got me thinking, is it somehow possible to just get the playlists from a streaming service, but play the local files that are already analyzed / gridded? Assuming they have the same name / path on jellyfin as on local disk.
The usecase is that while I'm out and about I want to listen to my own music via jellyfin, create playlists and then DJ them when I get home.

The answer is probably no, but can't hurt to ask.

I think this is not possible as this is no intended functionality within traktor to link beatport tracks to your own ones and with beatport streaming, the unique identifier for tracks is a numeric id and no filename, so there is also no direct link between them.

Playing playlists from streaming services within traktor is exactly what I wanted to archive and this is possible with spotify and tidal. Create your playlists on the go and then mix them in traktor and I believe if you played tracks via the proxy before and then have them in a playlist of the same source, it will take the already downloaded ones with the analyzed states/cue points.

I think for your specific usecase to use tracks that are already present in the local traktor collection, it would be easier to just export the playlists via some api call and save all tracks in a m3u playlist file that contains just lines of filenames and then import it in traktor. If you want more automation, you could also modify the traktor collection nml file (xml) directly and create a new playlist there, however traktor would need to be closed.

Yeah, I already have a prototype that can get Playlist from jellyfin, create m8u files and map them to local path. And merge with collection.nml

I think I will mess with jellyfin plugin for your proxy as well. If I find the time.

Ah okay, you are looking for an even tighter integration, but I don't see an improvement is possible to archive via beatport streaming to map local files.

If you get the jellyfin plugin working, you could just access everything via the proxy so that it will always map to the same file to keep the states but I guess the benefit is rather small, especially because you have all the files locally already, and traktor would download them and store in its vault which means duplication in terms of storage.

But in general, supporting self-hosted services is really cool and was also a usecase I had in mind, especially if you have a laptop with limited storage.
