Privacy policy payment section omits Huawei AppGallery while APN advertises AppGallery installation
Summary
APN now advertises Huawei AppGallery as an official install channel on the
public homepage and in the public bug-report platform list, but the privacy
policy payment section still says payments are handled only by "the App Store
or Google Play".
The policy does not mention Huawei AppGallery or Huawei's billing/payment
processor at all.
Steps to reproduce
-
Open https://apn.tech/.
-
In the store links, observe the official Huawei AppGallery link:
https://appgallery.huawei.com/app/C117910435.
-
Open https://apn.tech/bug.
-
In the "Where the bug was found" dropdown, observe Huawei / HarmonyOS.
-
Open https://apn.tech/privacy.
-
Read the payment paragraph:
Payments are handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play; APN never
sees your card or banking details.
-
Search the privacy policy for Huawei or AppGallery; neither appears.
Actual result
The public product surface tells users they can install/use APN through Huawei
AppGallery, while the privacy policy only identifies App Store and Google Play
as payment handlers.
Expected result
If AppGallery builds can involve subscriptions, purchases, or payment records,
the privacy policy should name Huawei/AppGallery alongside the other app-store
payment handlers and explain whether APN keeps the same transaction metadata.
If AppGallery builds do not support payments, the policy or store copy should
make that limitation clear so Huawei users are not relying on an incomplete
payment-data disclosure.
Impact
Huawei users cannot tell from the privacy policy which store/payment processor
handles their subscription or purchase data. The omission is especially
confusing because the same policy names other app-store processors explicitly.
