Self-hosting the open-source @airnauts/comments-* packages stays free and first-class — this is an additional, paid convenience tier, not a replacement.
Scope is broad and largely product/ops, not just code — e.g. multi-tenant server + per-tenant data isolation, billing / subscriptions, signup & provisioning, usage metering / plan limits, an admin / management surface, and hosted infra (managed DB + blob storage). Worth breaking into sub-issues once the offering is scoped.
