Modded hoppers do not work for automation input

How to Reproduce?

1. Use a modded hopper to insert items for processing
2. Items remain in the hopper

Expected Behavior

any hopper should work

any hopper mods in particular that are not working?

pnematiccraft, wooden hopper, brick hopper are the ones i tested and they did not work. thisa is for both input and output
