Figure out how to support requirements installation on other distributions

Right now we shell out directly to dnf which is not ideal. I originally wanted to use PackageKit but it doesn't seem to support installation by file path, which complicates things; I also couldn't find any decent bindings for it.

As a stopgap, we should at least consider spawning off a terminal or something, as otherwise the DNF output is completely invisible when the wrapper is not invoked from the CLI (e.g. if someone double clicks an x86 binary in the file manager)

Obviously Arch does not use dnf but pacman, so I am just adding my comment here so that you know that I just stumpled over the fact that you hardcoded dnf in two places:

Yes, that's why this issue exists :) Happy to take PRs to make this more generic, ideally by leveraging PackageKit or some other equivalent abstraction. FWIW the existing logic should be a noop on distros that don't use DNF (and only impacts the automated installation of dependencies), but I haven't tested it extensively.
