On March 27, we received this feedback from a TLPD user:
I recently deleted my account in the system because I wanted to be known by others in the system but didn’t want my profile to be indexed in the public internet/search engines.
The Ed Tech/Higher Liberal Ed culture favors openness (as do I) but at the same time there are people like me (SME/domain experts who have different professional hats they wear (including non-educational, like in industry) and pathways they pursue. So, so I think some people will want more fine grained control on managing their public personal and impressions they make. I would estimate that the population that B.C. Campus wants to influence are those beyond the early adopter and ed tech/open ed folks, and those folks probably have more complex needs.
Can your team add features for more fine grained control in the profile by users?
Creating this ticket so we remember to discuss this going forward. Is it possible to give users more control over privacy settings?
