NMAPs not appearing in logs

I remember using artillery around a year ago and i was able to see logs about a simple NMAP. Now, on multiple installation of the software, whenever I am running an NMAP against a target with Artillery running the scan completes and i get absolutely no warnings or logs. Is that normal?

After a good amount of trial with different parameters I was able to have logs show up for an NMAP scan, but only using sudo nmap -sU ipaddress. Apparently running a normal scan doesn't show anything.
