Installed on TB 140.6.0esr - Archive Folders were created in LocalFolder as defined, but no email were copied into these folders!

Same for me here. I use this extension for many years now and I just found out that for one of my accounts emails are not getting archived but deleted since end of September 2024. I have the same settings for all my accounts. The only difference is the days after emails shall get archived. For the other accounts the extension works as expected.

How can I help to debug this?

Update. I deleted my subfolder under Local Folders -> Archive and set the archive folder to be Local Folders -> Archive. This worked. Emails getting now archived correctly. In a next step I recreated the sub folder and set the path there. But emails are still getting archived to the main folder.

The new subfolder is a different type of folder it seams. It looks different and has different settings.

Folder B is the issue.

Is this the reason for the issue? A wrong folder type for archiving?

In the error console I found this entry prior redoing the folders:

Sorry to hear about the data loss.

"Error: Support deprecated since Thunderbird 121 and removed in Manifest V3: messages.list() requires to specify a MailFolderId" is just a warning. The addon is still a Manifest V2 Addon.

Do I understand it right: now your mails are no longer lost but archived to the wrong folder (not in B)?

Unfortunately, it is very hard to find the cause for the data loss if I am not able to reproduce it.
The addon is "only" telling Thunderbird which mails to archive.
The archiving is done by Thunderbird itself.
So this might be a thunderbird bug. But without a way to reproduce it, it will be also hard for them to analyse.

The icon of folder "B" looks correct. Every folder which is used as archive gets this icon...
I also tested a (unusal) structure "archive1" with a sub folder "archive2" and used both folder as archive target in 2 accounts: Thunderbird did not have a problem with this structure...

When I used the archive feature within Thunderbird (right click -> archive) the email was archived correctly. If this information is helpful.
