Recurring Tasks

Currently, if we have a recurring task which lets say should be created every day/week/month/quarter/year, we have to do it manually.

Let's have a feature which helps set the frequency for any task which can be recurring. We should add the end date for auto-creation, if it is not set, it must get auto-created till forever.

Examples can be - electricity bill for a month, TDS for a quarter etc..

Shipped the first tracer-bullet slice (commit acc8745):

• New Recurrence field on Hive Task: None / Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly / Yearly + optional Repeat Until date
• When a recurring task is marked Done, a new instance auto-spawns with due_date = previous due_date (or today) + frequency, assignees copied over, same recurrence settings inherited so the cycle continues
• Read-only recurring_parent field tracks lineage back to the root task (useful for a future "all occurrences" view)
• Honors the Repeat Until end date — no new instance spawns once the next computed due date is past it
• Available in the New Task dialog (both project detail and global /tasks page)

Verified locally: created a Daily-recurring task on Website Redesign, marked it Done, saw the next-day instance appear in To Do. Setting an end date in the past correctly stopped the chain.

Not in this slice (follow-ups):

• Visual indicator on kanban cards / list rows for recurring tasks
• Setting recurrence on existing tasks via TaskDetailSheet
• Scheduler-based catch-up for cycles missed because the user didn't mark previous instance Done
• "See all occurrences" view from any instance

I'll pick these up in subsequent iterations.

Shipped follow-up #2 (commit c20fb43): visual indicator for recurring tasks.

• Kanban cards now show a ↻ <Frequency> outlined badge alongside the existing priority/size/PR/UAT badges (e.g. ↻ Monthly, ↻ Quarterly)
• List view (/tasks) shows just the repeat icon next to the title — column was already crowded, and the frequency surfaces via native tooltip on hover
• Both list queries (TasksPage + ProjectDetailPage TASK_FIELDS) now fetch recurrence_frequency; without that the new badges had nothing to render from

Verified locally on pms.localhost with Monthly + Quarterly test tasks on Website Redesign. Both the kanban (To Do, In Progress columns) and list view rendered the indicators correctly. Test tasks cleaned up.

Remaining follow-ups (not in this slice):

• Setting recurrence on existing tasks via TaskDetailSheet
• Scheduler-based catch-up for cycles missed because the previous instance wasn't marked Done
• "See all occurrences" view from any instance

Shipped follow-up #3 (commit e82cf13): edit recurrence on existing tasks via TaskDetailSheet.

• Added the Recurrence Select and conditional Repeat Until date picker to the task detail sheet, between Dates and PR Link. Order mirrors the New Task dialog so it's easy to spot.
• Wired into the existing 1.5s autosave — no extra Save button, just change the dropdown and it persists.
• Setting Recurrence to None clears both the frequency and the end date in one save, so unsetting is clean.
• recurrence_end_date is now included in the /tasks and project-detail list queries so the form initialises with the right value without a separate fetch (recurrence_frequency was already there for the badges).

Verified locally: opened TASK-00005 on /tasks, set Recurrence → Monthly, watched the kanban card and list row pick up the ↻ Monthly badge. Reloaded, reopened — the combobox restored to Monthly. Reset back to None, badge disappeared.
