Multicontrol of a Tonex One and Tonex Pedal

Hi. I'm new to this world and just bought the 4.3 screen. I don't know if it would be possible, but I would like to connect it to the Tonex One thru usb-c and to the Tonex Pedal thru widi. Would be great to have two tags in the main screen to select each pedal and control all parameters individually. I also have the Airstep to on/off effects. Any help?😅

Hi. This kind of thing would be possible I think, but is actually a real big job in software.
There would be issues on the wired Midi side too, for example you can't retreieve the current preset or any of the current parameters over Midi to the Tonex. It wouldn't be able to show the parameter values on the LCD.

Connecting via USB allows much more control.

Generally when people have multiple Tonex devices, they use multiple controllers. It wouldn't have to be 4.3", it could be a Zero or similar very small/cheap model.

Thanks for your answer. My idea was to control the Tonex pedal thru widi, I don't know if it would work, or if it would be possible with a multi usb if works better than midi. I am interested to see the parameters of both in the screen. I already control the Tonex Pedal with a Korg Nanokontrol Studio thru widi and the One could be controlled thru the screen with usb

Hi. Support for multiple Tonex pedals on the same controller is something that has been suggested a few times, but its a big technical challenge. I suspect it might end up not having enough ram to handle it.

Hi. Would be great at list switch between them even if they don't work at the same time. My plan is to use the Tonex one for OD. So, when I already have selected one, I don't need to tweak much and would be enough from the pedal itself. Thanks anyway for your help and congratulations for this great project :)

Hi. USB makes things complicated here. In order to switch between pedals, it would be necessary to fully unload the first one, and then load the second one including going through the sync process again each time.

What about Bluetooth? I have an Eventide H9 that the app shows the parameters in live and If I move any parameter thru the Korg Nanokontrol Studio, moves in the app. And the pedal.

Good question. Right now, the bluetooth uses Midi, so is limited to the same thing as in no feedback of current parameters.
However, Bluetooth is technically capable. In fact the One Plus uses Bluetooth to pass the same data that normally goes via USB.

I do plan to investigate this area more in the future. Some people have requested adding support for the Tonex App on the old pedals, but not sure if possible.

Ok, thanks. I just received the waveshare 4.3 and installed the v2.0.4.2. It works great but the image is always the same. How do I do to see the image of each amp or effect?

In short, the amp skin values are stored in IK's PC softare and not on the pedal itself. So it's necessary to set them manually using the touch screen.
