These are text wireframes for the current frontend in frontend/index.html. The goal is to capture structure and flow, not final visual styling.
The wireframes live here in docs/ so they stay versioned with the rest of the project notes. Use this file as the canonical source, and link to it from the README.
If you want a more visual version later, the best follow-up is a vector image in docs/ so it can be inserted into Microsoft Word directly. For now, the SVG below is the best image-format companion to this Markdown file.
Open docs/wireframes.svg for a diagram-style version of the same layout.
When the page loads, the user has not selected a species yet.

- The page has a clear single-task flow: select a species, then inspect route, trend, and collectible views.
- The layout already supports responsive stacking.
- The status lines make the data loading state understandable.
- Add a dedicated empty-state illustration or helper text for the map and chart placeholders.
- Add a one-line explanation of the split control so users understand why the route mix changes.
- Consider a compact "How to read this page" block if non-technical users are the main audience.
- Start with this Markdown file for discussion and review.
- If you want visual sign-off, add a simple
docs/wireframes.htmlnext. - If the wireframe should become product-facing documentation, link it from the README and keep the detailed spec here.
- If you need an image for Microsoft Word, use docs/wireframes.svg.
