Crafttweaker support for backpack upgrading

If I change the recipe for a backpack tier upgrade, IE replacing the obsidian in the obsidian backpack with netherite from a mod that adds it, the backpack loses the ability to retain its contents upon being upgraded.

Ideally, I'd like to see backpacks simply check their recipe for the previous tier of backpack, and copy over the inventory from any of them found, but an option in the config for the item ID used in the recipe would be plenty for me.

Hello, sorry but I'm not really sure what I can do to preserve data after using Crafttweaker to modify recipe on the mod, but you might want to look into the official documentation for more information.

The basic idea is that the way RSB copying data is by copying items in capability from the consumed backpack to the upgraded backpack, so you need to have a function that does the trick. See Cap NBT section in IItemStack in Crafttweker's documentation might help your case.

For the option you provided, it is not very convincing me that it would cover most users' use case, which I'm not going to follow that path to solve this issue.

Do you have an example of this being done?
I am an absolute crafttweaker incompetent, and while I use it much, it's entirely by changing values in other people's code, my attempts at writing anything have universally failed, including using the described methods, unfortunately.
