Describe the Bug
Hello,
First of all, thank you for all the hard work you have put into Hyper Bridge. I have been using this app on my Redmi Note 14 for quite a long time, and before the recent update it worked very well for me. I was genuinely happy with the experience.
After the update released a few days ago, I started facing several issues on my device. In my personal opinion, the previous version already worked quite well, and I feel it may have been better to continue improving that experience rather than introducing major new changes.
My first concern is the new Live Updates Design. When the Island expands, it becomes quite large and takes up a significant portion of the status bar area. Important icons such as Wi-Fi, signal, battery, and other notification icons become hidden. Personally, I find the previous design much cleaner and more practical for daily use.
My second concern is the Xiaomi Featured Design. Initially, it would not activate and required the additional Shizuku app. I spent a considerable amount of time setting everything up. The app was not easily available for me, so I had to manually install it and complete the entire setup process.
Unfortunately, even after all of that effort, the feature still does not work properly on my device. I received one call notification that appeared on the Island, but afterward the Island did not behave correctly, and most of the notifications that came later were not shown on the Island at all.
Because of this experience, the new features currently feel less reliable on my Redmi Note 14 than the previous version did.
Please do not take this as criticism. I truly appreciate the effort you put into this project, and I know a lot of work goes into developing and maintaining it. I am only sharing my honest experience as a long-time user who really enjoyed using Hyper Bridge before these changes.
At the moment, I am unsure whether Hyper Bridge is still the right solution for my device. If there is a recommended configuration, a fix, or another method that I should try, I would be very grateful for your guidance. Otherwise, if you know of an alternative app that provides a similar experience, I would appreciate your recommendation.
Thank you again for your time, support, and continued work on Hyper Bridge.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install the latest version of Hyper Bridge on Redmi Note 14 (HyperOS 3).
- Enable Live Updates and Xiaomi Featured Design.
- Complete all required permissions and setup steps.
- Configure the additional Shizuku setup if requested.
- Receive a phone call or notification from apps such as WhatsApp or Instagram.
- Observe the Island behavior and notification handling.
Results:
- Live Updates become too large and hide status bar icons.
- Xiaomi Featured Design does not work reliably.
- Some notifications appear once, while many others do not appear on the Island at all.
- In some cases, the Island remains visible and does not dismiss correctly after a notification or call.
