Range for chroma

Hi Daniel - this is a great project! I'm working on a three-slider implementation using OKLCH. From other web implementations, it looks like the chroma range should be 0.0 to 3.7 for p3, or 0.0 to 4.7 for rec2020, as seen here: https://oklch.com. However, when playing with the inputs there, it is clear that the upper range for the chroma within a given gamut shifts based on the hue. Is there a way for me to get the max chroma value related to the hue value for a given gamut (srgb or p3)?

One more thing - in examining the P3 values generated while varying the chroma from 0 to 0.1, I'm still getting values for r, g, and b that are outside of 0 to 1. If I reduce chroma to 0.1 with 1.0 lightness, shifting the hue will still return values that are above 1. So it would appears that it would not be enough to limit the chroma max value, and it would require limiting the lightness as well? Here's an example:
