Am I correct in understanding this would make it so you can swap just helmet, not nvgs with it?

Running into an issue with the OPTRE implant NVGs that have no model to them when they are on your head, but they suddenly look like default NVGs strapped to your helmet when you sling it. So having a way to just swap hats would be very nice.

No that's an optre bug. This issue is stale

What KJW said, that's an optre bug. They don't set the model property, which is what's issued when the nvg is dropped on the ground.
