The vanilla cauldron is best mined with a pickaxe.
The dragon's breath cauldron does not have a best tool, so it never mines quickly and cannot drop a cauldron. I did verify that the cauldron would not break more quickly with a pickaxe or drop itself and it isn't just a Jade issue.
