Model behaviour
The function scales land use at the pixel level based on the relative change in quantities of selected food items in a food balance sheet.
Input parameters include:

• Land DataArray to scale
• Reference and target food balance sheets
• List of items to monitor
• List of land classes to scale
• List of land classes to use as replacement (existing or new)

New implementation should also be able to perform the scaling along a time dimensions using input timescale kwargs

Land DataArray

Land DataArrays are expected to quantify the percentage or area within a pixel for a particular use, as a function of time.
Arrays have the following dimensions:

• x, y: Spatial dimensions
• class: Type of land for which quantities are presented in the array
• Year: Temporal dimension, not necessarily a continuous array of years, and not necessarily equally spaced.

A condition can be set via a boolean flag to preserve the total area within a pixel, for which the replacement land classes would be required.

These quantify food for different food supply elements and typically have the "Item", "Year" and "Region" dimensions
