Apple TV Mutes ALL dialogue

When I watch Apple TV, profanity dialogue is hidden/replaced as expected, but APF also mutes all sound. To get the sound back, I have to click on the volume button each time profanity is used.

Thanks for reporting the issue @angelguy1949-art. I'm sorry that is happening. Could you share which device type and browser you are experiencing this on so I can get it working the way it should again?

@angelguy1949-art, would you be willing to share a copy of your config? I haven't been able to get the behavior you are describing yet. If so, you can export your config (Options page > Config tab > Export button) and attach it here, or email it to me (support @ frostco.dev without the spaces).

If you'd rather not, the next best thing would be to have you still make a backup of your config as described above and then reset back to the defaults in that same "Config" page. After that, just go turn on audio muting again (Options page > Audio tab), and optionally add a temporary word to the filter for testing.

OK. I will send you current configuration. BTW, I stream Paramount, Hulu, Netflix, and Peacock also. The muting issue does not occur with any of the other services. Your filter works perfectly with tem. Issue is only Apple TV. Thank you.

Thank you for sending over your config and screenshots @angelguy1949-art, it really helps. Can you try changing your audio Mute Method to Video volume (Options page > Audio tab) and see if it works? It looks like Apple TV may have changed their muting functionality, and is no longer compatible with using the Video mute method anymore. If it works for you to do that, you should be good to go. Please let me know once you've had a chance to test that out. If it does solve it, I'll update the config for Apple TV+ accordingly to help avoid the issue.
