segmentation fault while allocating memory

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Allocate different(3-4) chunks of memory like 200bytes, 250bytes, 50bytes 
like that..
2. Then deallocates any two memory
3. Now again try to allocate a memory

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Memory should be alloacetd. But i am getting segmentation fault.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.0.0, Slackware OS , gcc compiler

Please provide any additional information below.
