Issues with HRES data download

I am very interested in your work and would like to follow it. I'm experiencing data interruptions when downloading ECMWF HRES data, whether using a browser or the wget command line. For example, when downloading a 50GB file like 2018.7z.001, it might stop automatically after downloading about 15GB. I suspect this is due to network issues in my area. Would it be convenient for you to split the file into smaller subfiles, or are there any other download methods? Thank you.

Did you try the --continue option with wget? something like:

wget --continue https://bonndata.uni-bonn.de/api/access/datafile/13578 -O ECMWF_HRES_Global/2018.7z.001

It should be possible to continue a broken download with the --continue option.

Yes. Because I only needed files from 2017 onwards, I directly copied the matching command from the download_ecmwf_hres.sh file to download .7z files.

Hi @yikuizh , I haven't solved this problem yet. I used the wget and aria2 commands, both with the -c option enabled, but the download only stopped after 16GB of the 50GB data was downloaded. I suspect it might be a problem with the Wi-Fi in my area.
