c++ io implementation loses REMARKS field when loading then re-saving a file

This causes any comments stored to be lost when modifying a file via the C++ implementation.

Marked as wontfix because this is unlikely to cause problems. If anyone can demonstrate the need to fix this, I will re-evaluate the issue.
