Make the grid more visible in the 2d view when objects have been placed

Currently once objects are placed down, they cover up the grid.

This can make it awkward to place accurate sized and positioned objects on top of where objects had already been placed.

Ideally the grid should always be partially visible through this, so maybe some transparency/blending.
