Test 2: Real Data

Description

Test purpose:
Does the sensor detect devices in the area (150 ft radius estimate), and then post to the database correctly?

Steps:

• Choose a place to set up (home, no walls, neighborhood, library, etc.)
• Edit session-counter.ini to post to the database at the needed time duration
• Compile the installer on GH Actions
• Modify imls-wifi-sensor to post data to the GA server
• Manually generate the password for the sensor from the API
• Download the installer from Github and follow the installation instructions
• Monitor the logs in “Program Files (x86)/IMLS Session Counter/service”
• Connect to the server to check if new data was posted

Metrics - Manual Count

• Count the expected number of wifi-enabled devices in the area

Metrics - Router

• Either access your router logs or SNMP walk your router to get the logs for a certain time period
