PayForMe Causes HTTP-Error 429: Too Many Requests

Early 2024 users reported that PayForMe caused so many requests to the Cospend application that their client got blocked. Their only solution was to disable brute force protection in Cospend which is not advised.

Reports of the issue:

I need some more pieces of information to be able to reproduce the issue to then solve it – if it even is still present.

Hey @InteractionEngineer, thanks again for taking over!
The problem is that during adding the link or QR code for a project, we add it to textfields, which (over the Combine framework) triggers a spam of an endpoint of Cospend (because we re-used functionality that existed for typing in manually). We just discovered it after this brute force check was added to Cospend.
The error must be somewhere in one of these files, or files directly connected to it (Using a proxy for the network connection helped in finding it, but we never got around to fix it):
