Moving from Tomato Firmware to Dd-wrt

Does any one know how i can flash a Dlink 868L router currently running Tomato Firmware to DD-wrt? Each time i try i get a header error?

Use following to flash back to stock firmware and then flash to DD-WRT. Make sure to clear tomato settings before flashing back to stock.

1. Plug the Ethernet cable that connects your computer, that was plugged into one of the LAN ports,
2. Setup your PC with static IP - ex: 192.168.0.2 (different from 192.168.0.1)
3. Make sure the PC has the stock firmware
4. Unplug the power
5. Hold the reset button for 3~5 seconds and re plug the power WITHOUT RELEASING THE RESET BUTTON until the amber power light keeps blinking on and off.
   6.Open a web browser to 192.168.0.1 and then you should see EMERGENCY FLASHING page then click browse/upload locate the file and click UPLOAD FIRMWARE NOW

I know this is old, but as of this week on my Netgear R7000 you can flash directly from tomato to DD-WRT, as long as you check the box to wipe nvram in tomato before clicking upgrade and flashing the firmware. Use the webflash.bin firmware from DD-WRT betas and then rename bin to trx just in case.

The same is true for going from DD-WRT to Tomato, make sure to select clear nvram before clicking the button to upload the firmware and you SHOULD be fine

Things could be different now since it's been a year or so, but this is what worked for me.
