[ElegantFin] Chapters overlap series details in series view

Hello @enieuwy,

Thanks for this new theme, I really like it! Especially the rounded covers and the glass effect, so neat!

But I came across a few bugs that can be seen on the video I recorded.

• On the series view, the chapters overlap the details and the tab bar. You can't see clearly what's behind, and it feels cluttered.

• Also, the tab bar to navigate to volume, chapter and specials section can no longer be accessed due to the chapters taking all the space.

• When left menu is unfolded, it overlaps everything. Which is not the case on the main page. It should force the page to resize.

I noticed the same behavior on iPhone, iPad and desktop. It is not specific to the comic library, I have it on the manga and books libraries too.

Hope to get a chance to work on these issues tomorrow.

I was spending some time on the sidebar issue. My ideal would actually be a horizontally scrolling pill bar under the header - fewer clicks/taps and always have the item text visible, plus better use of space on mobile. But it might be fighting the JS too much.

Thanks for the feedback! I've addressed the sidebar overlap, zoom clipping, and mobile layout issues in PR #34.

Additional fixes included:

• Author Detail Page: Fixed the content overlap by applying the same padding logic as the Series Detail page.
• Mobile/Tablet: Fixed the "ghost" sidebar that was taking up space even when closed.
• Zoom/Hover: Fixed the card hover effects being clipped by the container edges.

I tried replacing it with the revised 34 files, but the same issue persists. Could it be that the current fix only applies to mobile?

The PR hasn't been merged yet—requires a repo maintainer to review. Hopefully that's soon and I can get your feedback.

It sounds like they patched the files in and are still experiencing the bug. I can merge the PR but you might want to double check this issue.

It’s okay for me on mobile, I’ll try desktop tonight.
A few adjustments that can be made :

• Add Read status like elegantfin on Jellyfin with that green check on the bottom right
• Reduce the spacing between two rows of chapters
• The left menu doesn’t go all the way to the bottom

To add on to this for desktop view:
One- The issues/chapters preview menu is shifted to the right of the screen when the UI on the left is not hidden.
Two- When you are viewing a single chapter/volume/issue, the top is slightly cut off

Wanted to echo the issue Seero noticed about the sidebar in chap view - it actually cuts off chapters if the sidebar is not hidden

That said, fantastic theme all around
But did wonder if Theme could have something to denote Read Status on series/chaps? like greying of series read or a small checkmark as suggested above? Believe missing in most current ones

Another issue particular to Annotations (love the scroll added in cards btw)
If you open Annotation in a reader and then close the reader to go back, the entire series page gets messed up completely for some reason - the Storyline/Chap Tab starts showing Detail Info and Annotations cover all page if switched to
EDIT: The moving to details level info seems to be Default Kavita behaviour it seems

Further on Annotations - The Card Popups are bit messed up with Overflow going out of bonds (I have PR open on Kavita Repo regarding this that could improve how its displayed here if those changes can be directly made in theme itself)
