Feature Request

Current Problem

Users cannot see which network they are connected to after switching, causing confusion.

Proposed Behavior

Display the active network name prominently on the main wallet screen and in relevant menus for clear identification.

Lightweight Testnet Indicator

Context

Bitcoin Keeper has a global Network Type setting under:

More → App Settings → Network Type

When the user switches to Testnet, the app changes wallet, key, node, receive, and send behavior. Users need a simple visible indication in the areas where network confusion can cause mistakes.

Mainnet is the default network and does not need a visible indicator.

Goal

Show a small, simple, non-tappable Testnet indicator when Testnet mode is active.

The indicator should help users recognize that they are using Testnet without adding clutter or taking meaningful screen space.

Non-Goals

• Do not show a Mainnet indicator.
• Do not make the indicator tappable.
• Do not add a new network switcher.
• Do not move Network Type settings.
• Do not add a full-width Testnet banner.
• Do not show Testnet copy across every screen.
• Do not use dev-mode language in production UI.

User Flow

When Network Type is Mainnet:

• User sees the normal app UI.
• No network indicator is shown.

When Network Type is Testnet:

• User sees a small Testnet indicator on important wallet and key surfaces.
• Indicator appears near the existing screen title/header where possible.
• User continues normal app usage.
• Indicator does not respond to taps.

• When Network Type is Mainnet, show only Receive Bitcoin.

Navigation transitions:

• No navigation changes.
• Receive remains opened from wallet detail and preserves wallet context.

Send Review / Confirmation Screen

Title:

Review Transaction (Testnet)

If current UI uses a different existing title, preserve the existing title and append (Testnet).

No new body copy.

Button labels:

No new buttons.

Warnings/info text:

Keep existing send confirmation warnings unchanged.

Behaviours:

• When Network Type is Testnet, show Testnet inline with the send review header.
• Indicator should be visible before the user broadcasts or proceeds to signing.
• Indicator must not replace transaction details.
• Indicator must not be hidden below the fold.
• Indicator must not be tappable.
• When Network Type is Mainnet, show the existing title without a network indicator.

Navigation transitions:

• No navigation changes.
• Existing send, review, sign, and broadcast flow remains unchanged.

Design Requirements

• Indicator should be small and simple.
• Prefer inline header placement using brackets: (Testnet).
• Do not create a large badge, banner, card, modal, toast, or warning strip.
• Do not consume extra vertical screen space unless the existing header layout cannot support inline text.
• Do not shrink the main title below existing readable sizes.
• Do not truncate Testnet.
• On small iPhone and Android widths, the title and indicator must remain readable.
• If inline title becomes too long on a specific screen, use a compact label beside or below the title within the header area.
• The indicator should follow existing Keeper typography and color rules.
• Do not introduce a new visual system.

Implementation Notes

• Network Type is global app state.
• Source of truth: More → App Settings → Network Type.
• Indicator visibility should be derived only from global Network Type.
• Do not infer Testnet state from individual wallets, signers, keys, or nodes.
• When Network Type changes from Testnet to Mainnet, all Testnet indicators must disappear immediately after the app state updates.
• When Network Type changes from Mainnet to Testnet, indicators must appear on supported screens without requiring app restart.
• Keep production and Testnet UX clearly separated.
• This feature is display-only and should not affect wallet balance, signing, receiving, sending, key availability, or network switching logic.

Acceptance Criteria

• In Mainnet mode, no Mainnet indicator is shown anywhere.
• In Testnet mode, Wallets tab title shows Wallets (Testnet).
• In Testnet mode, Keys tab title shows Keys (Testnet).
• In Testnet mode, Receive Bitcoin screen title shows Receive Bitcoin (Testnet).
• In Testnet mode, Send review/confirmation screen title shows the existing title with (Testnet) appended.
• The Testnet indicator is not tappable.
• Tapping the indicator does nothing.
• The indicator does not open Network Type settings.
• The indicator does not add a new route.
• The indicator does not appear as a full-width banner.
• The indicator does not obscure QR codes, wallet cards, key cards, buttons, balances, fee details, or transaction details.
• The indicator responds correctly when Network Type changes.
• Existing Wallets, Keys, Receive, and Send flows continue working unchanged.
• Small-screen layouts remain readable without truncating security-critical copy.
