Ice not melting fast enough

I am finding my oceans arent melting fast enough, specifically the areas that arent loaded often.
I see there are setttings for melting in the config but is there any way to speed up the melt rapidly if its out of season for chunks that havent been loaded for a while?

It would also be nice if the melt settings explained what they did more too (eg, tick-period-ticks).

Yes, I noticed this behavior! I'm going to correct it in version 2.0! To better balance the snow and defrost speed! I'll let you know when the new version is ready!
