I am also interested in this. My setup with three remotes is working fine as-is but it would be neat if it could use the new built-in entity. |

Has there been any discussion yet around enabling the new infrared emitter entity type that landed in Home Assistant 2026.4?
It's not entirely clear to me how this would be implemented via MQTT, but it would be cool to finally make it easy to distribute and consume catalogs of IR codes this way without having to think about the vendor-specific formats as a user.
