The Firmware ID column is optional attributes, so, devices are not obligated to report it. Since this is built into the firmware, the same device, with different firmware, can behave differently. It is only cosmetic.
The 2 versions columns are the ones used by OTA.

Devices that don't respond to OTA can mean a few things, but the most common is battery devices that are sleeping (you can wake them up first by pushing a button, then immediately request after).

RTCZCGQ11LM Aqara. I updated my device to build 58 on an earlier version of zigbee2mqtt. Newer versions of zigbee2mqtt show that my device has a newer version than the one available for updating.

Aqara is known for making a mess with versions; they sometimes release updates that have lower versions than previous...

We publish at least 1 per week with the latest firmware availabilities.

If you want a clean slate for all state values, you can delete the state.json file from your Z2M data folder (stop Z2M, delete the file, start Z2M); that will force Z2M to rebuild it from fresh values.
Just in case you have some undesired remnants in there.
Devices periodically request OTA checks themselves, you don't need to force it for all after that, you can just let it rebuild over the next few days (you might see some N/A values in the meantime).

Sorry, I don't understand. What's the difference between the NEO NAS-WR01B (TS011F _TZ3000_gjnozsaz) smart plug and the NEO NAS-WR01B (TS011F _TZ3000_gjnozsaz) smart plug? Z2M displays the different available firmware versions.

"Available firmware version" sounds like that version is available for download.

But there is no download available for his plugs. No image in zigbee-ota matched.
(OTA is enabled for all TS011F, but the updates are gated by manufacturer name)

Z2M displays the "latest" version as the installed version.
Maybe we should change this behavior? -1 = didn't check, 0 = checked, none available

I'm not sure that's it. Seems like a lot of different topics mixed together. I think the confusion is mostly that same model doesn't necessarily mean same firmware (hence not same version/availability).

About the OTA payload:
Changing this logic has far reaching consequences (3rd-party automation systems). Most will do "latest-installed" (or something similar) to figure out if an update is available; some might support specific numbers for specific signals, but can't assume... -1 is only for a HA workaround I think.
We can change the display in WindFront somehow though I suppose. But when "available version = current version", it's rather clear that no update is available? Activating the "State" column can make it clearer still.

Indeed, multiple topics are mixed.
Even if it correctly showed:

• plug 1 - installed A - nothing available
• plug 2 - installed B - nothing available

The user would want version B on both..

We could have the plugs follow the rule: no image submitted -> don't enable OTA (converter fix) -> don't show in OTA tab -> no issue

I was hoping 3rd parties would let Z2M handle the logic, and use the state: available attribute.

🤦🏻 Just noticed we have the latest_source. We can easily fix the display based on that.

if (update != null and latest_version != null):
    if (latest_source == null and latest_version == installed_version): display "N/A"
    else display(latest_version)
else display("Unknown")

Is there any logic to Unknown and N/A usage?

• Firmware ID is displayed as "Unknown" - but it's known: null, so I think "N/A" fits better
• Firmware version is displayed as "N/A", but it didn't check yet, so I think "Unknown" fits better
