Untill now, it was sufficient to have a simple synchronous communication schema with an instrument. But with more time consuming multiple and complex measurements timeouts appear more often. Just increasing the timeout is not the preferred way to go.
Therefore IEEE488.2 synchronization capabilities, build into VISA, must be added to the code.
