This project adopts the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1 as its code of conduct. By participating, you are expected to uphold it.

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, report it privately to the maintainers at daveproxy80@gmail.com. All reports are reviewed and handled confidentially.
Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing the standards of acceptable behaviour. They have the right and responsibility to:
- Remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, issues, and other contributions that do not align with this Code of Conduct.
- Communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.
- Take corrective or disciplinary action in response to behaviour they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.
All maintainers are expected to handle reports promptly, impartially, and in good faith, and to recuse themselves from decisions where they have a conflict of interest.
This Code of Conduct applies in all project spaces, including but not limited to:
- GitHub issues, pull requests, discussions, and code reviews.
- The project's communication channels (chat, mailing lists, forums).
- In-person or virtual events where an individual is representing the project or its community.
- Any public or private interaction where an individual's conduct could reasonably reflect on the project.
- Report received — A report is submitted to daveproxy80@gmail.com. The reporter's identity is kept confidential.
- Acknowledgment — Maintainers acknowledge receipt of the report within 48 hours.
- Investigation — Maintainers review the report, gather context, and — where appropriate — speak with those involved. The investigation is completed within 7 days of acknowledgment.
- Decision — Maintainers determine which enforcement action is appropriate (see below) and notify the parties involved.
- Appeal — The subject of any enforcement action may appeal within 14 days of being notified (see Appeals Process below).
Maintainers follow these graduated guidelines when determining consequences:
Community impact: Minor, unintentional violation — e.g., inappropriate language or a comment that is unwelcoming.
Consequence: A private, written warning from maintainers explaining the nature of the violation and why the behaviour was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.
Community impact: A single serious violation or a pattern of minor violations — e.g., repeated minor incidents after a correction, or behaviour that harms one individual.
Consequence: A formal warning with clear expectations for future conduct. No unsolicited interaction with the people involved, including through third-party channels, for a specified period. Continued violations may result in a temporary or permanent ban.
Community impact: A serious violation of community standards — e.g., sustained inappropriate behaviour, harassment, or conduct that disrupts the community significantly.
Consequence: A temporary ban from all project spaces for a period specified by the maintainers (typically 30–90 days). No public or private interaction with the community or maintainers is permitted during this period. Violating these terms may result in a permanent ban.
Community impact: A pattern of sustained violations, harassment of an individual, or particularly egregious conduct — e.g., aggression, hate speech, or threats.
Consequence: A permanent ban from all project spaces and public interaction with the project community. No appeal is available for permanent bans imposed due to repeated violations after a temporary ban.
If you believe an enforcement decision was made in error or was disproportionate to the violation, you may submit an appeal:
- Eligibility — Appeals are accepted for Correction, Warning, and Temporary Ban decisions. Permanent bans issued after a prior temporary ban are not eligible for appeal.
- How to appeal — Email daveproxy80@gmail.com with the subject line
[APPEAL] Code of Conduct Decisionwithin 14 days of the enforcement notification. Include:- A summary of the original decision.
- Your grounds for appeal (e.g., factual inaccuracy, procedural error, disproportionate sanction).
- Any additional context or evidence you wish to provide.
- Review — A maintainer who was not involved in the original decision will review the appeal within 14 days of receipt.
- Outcome — The appeal reviewer may uphold the original decision, reduce the sanction, or overturn it. The outcome of the appeal is final.
All appeal communications are treated with the same confidentiality as the original report.
