The official QMapShack Linux build instructions use:

cmake --build . --target qmapshack

This only builds the main QMapShack application.
Although BUILD_QMAPTOOL is enabled by default, qmaptool, qmt_rgb2pct, and qmt_map2jnx are not built by this command.

As a result, sudo cmake --install . can fail with:

file INSTALL cannot find .../bin/qmaptool

To build and install all components, the additional targets have to be built explicitly:

cmake ../QMapShack -DBUILD_QMAPTOOL=ON

cmake --build . --target qmapshack qmaptool qmt_rgb2pct qmt_map2jnx -j$(nproc)

Then:

sudo cmake --install .

This builds and installs QMapShack, QMapTool, qmt_rgb2pct, and qmt_map2jnx

During installation of the Windows version QMapShack-1.21.0.1_x64_setup.exe McAfee has detected an issue (ti!97AA32413EC3) and put in quarantine the file INI.exe which was located in the folder C:\Users \ xxx \ AppData \ Local | QMapShack | QMSData
Looks as the application still working without it

The subdirectory QMSData contains a few files used as example data for QMS (map & DEM data, online router). The file INI.exe is executed once during installation to get a correct QMS INI file. This EXE can be deleted after the installation without disturbing the installed data. The whole QMSData directory can be deleted as well if the demo data in the directory is not used.

The virus warning itself seems to be a false positive.

Microsoft Defender (native Windows 11 antivirus) has detected a trojan in QMapShack-1.21.0.1_x64_setup.exe as soon as i've downloaded it:

Trojan:Win32/Suschil!rfn

It seems like a generic detection label used for unsigned files that match heuristic behavioral rules, but still, chilling. Anyway we could get these windows binaries signed? (SignPath Foundation or directly from the Microsoft Store)
