[Feature]: Cross-platform support

What are you trying to do?

As discussed in the reddit post, leather artisans would like to have access to this software; however, they are limited by the M1-only caveat.

Thus, the difficult but necessary solution is porting the project to something that is cross-platform.

What would you like to see?

A 1:1 port, or at least of the primary functionality. It is okay if the port improves on the original.

I'm working on the port within my fork of this repo. Thus, I ask to be the assignee of this task.

The grit-work is prepared by Codex, now I have to clean-up the mess it made.
As an improvement, I introducing a navigation system to allow changing between home/editor and other potential pages.

The port 1:1 copies the web-based 3d viewport, the UI is based on the cross-platform Avalonia framework.

Sorry for the slow reply.

A heads up before you sink more time in: I'm developing Pathstitch very fast on another branch right now, so main here is already out of date and has known bugs that aren't being actively fixed until that work gets merged. Just want to make sure you're not cleaning up Codex's mess against a moving/stale target.

Given that, and that a full port to Avalonia/.NET is a pretty different stack from the current Swift/SwiftUI codebase, I don't think I can assign this to you as an official task on the main repo right now. But if you want to keep working on the cross-platform port in your fork, go for it, I'm happy to link to it from the README or discuss merging/adopting it once things stabilize on my end and I can see how the port is shaping up.

Let me know how it progresses.

Status update

The current progress can be tracked in the https://github.com/hailstorm75/Pathstitch-CrossPort/tree/feature/cross_port Fork -> feature/cross_port branch.

I have prepared the foundation of the Avalonia.NET app and had Codex port the majority of the code.
I have used OpenGeometry instead of OpenCASCADE, and introduced page navigation to allow more complex application scenarios.

The code is a mess and a lot still needs to be done, but 3D models can be loaded, shapes can be drawn and stitch holes are "sometimes" applied. So now I will focus on diving into the spaghetti Codex has made and making something useful out of it.
