Love this project, finally a way to properly do digital signatures on linux without having to result to the Wine+Adobe route. However I have noticed that at least on my Arch setup only .jpg images show up in visual signatures. Using either png or svg will show them in the signature preview window while setting up the siganture, but they will not get rendered on the actual pdf.
