Is there an existing feature request for this?
Describe the feature you would like to see.
I would like Featherpanel to provide a feature that allows proxying the VNC console of Proxmox VMs through Featherpanel itself. This would enable secure access to VMs without exposing the Proxmox web interface or VNC ports directly to the internet, which reduces the attack surface and improves security. Currently, accessing VM consoles remotely requires exposing Proxmox to the internet or setting up a VPN, which can be inconvenient and potentially less secure.
Describe the solution you'd like.
I would like a feature where Featherpanel acts as some kind of reverse proxy for the VNC console. Users could open the VM console through Featherpanel, which internally connects to the Proxmox VNC service and streams it securely via the Featherpanel interface. Ideally, this would be seamless, requiring no additional configuration beyond adding Proxmox credentials and enabling the proxy option.
Additional context to this request.
This feature would enhance security by only exposing Featherpanel to the internet rather than Proxmox directly.
