STAC hierarchy: rendered_preview asset vs "preview" link

I was looking at the "no2-monthly" items in the VEDA STAC (https://openveda.cloud/api/stac/collections/no2-monthly/items/OMI_trno2_0.10x0.10_202101_Col3_V4.nc) and it seems like the Link with rel: "preview" and the asset with rel: "preview" are doing much the same thing. The first is a titiler map and the second is just a png. Regardless neither of them really seems like an asset. Is there a reason why they aren't both included in the hierarchy as links?

@jsignell - sorry this has just been dangling. I think our primary needs here are to make a thumbnail asset that the stac-browser recognizes automatically but we can/should make sure that the places where we dynamically render previews have a function and are not just sprinkled throughout the metadata.

Thanks for the context! This is obviously not urgent, just something that struck me as slightly odd.
