Is this the same problem you mention in discussion #2230 ? The attached log looks the same.

• What exactly is the target hardware? Is it a stock Orin Nano development kit with an NVME drive attached, or have you made other changes (such as replacing the Jetson module)?
• Can you tell us how you acquired that log, and be a bit more specific about what you are doing to trigger the problem?
• Does the kernel panic during flashing, preventing you from flashing the OS to the target system, or does it happen when rebooting after you have flashed your OS to the target system?
• Have you examined the log files generated during flashing, are any errors reported?
• Can you try a build using our demo distro setup? That's what we test with.

Generally, you are more likely to get a helpful response here if you actually fill in the requested information in the template, clearly describing the exact problem and as much information about how to reproduce it as you can.

Hi,
Yes this one is same #2230.
I am using jetson orin nano 4GB dev kit no modification done.
Used L4T package for flashing its working fine.

Now i changed to machine name to MACHINE ??= "p3768-0000-p3767-0004", now kernel panic was missed, but flashing was not success. showing Waiting for USB storage device flashpkg from 172d0774 .....
I will attach debug log, flash log and L4T log for your reference

Pls point me out what are mandatory changes required for build?

How to to under stand meta-tegra layer, like how its buildling, share any documents for reference.

Using p3768-0000-p3767-0004 as the MACHINE was a good move. Unlike JetPack/L4T, which has pre-built binaries compatible with all the different Jetson models, with Yocto you target a specific model. So if, for example, you replace the stock p3767-0005 module that comes in the Orin Nano dev kit with a p3767-0004, you must also change your MACHINE setting.

As for why the USB mass storage exchange isn't working... what host system are you using? Is there anything in the kernel log on that system? What sort of USB adapter are you using? Have you followed the setup mentioned on this page?

I am using Ubuntu 22 , using only USB cable to flash no adapter used, followed the setup page to prepare my machine.
Tried with demo distro also same issue existing, i am looking for your guidance to resolve the issue.
But i tried with doflash seems success, so any thing to check my end.

I see the JetPack flashing succeeded, so the difference could be down to the our use of the USB mass storage gadget to directly serve storage to your host. The flash log shows that the initrd is starting up OK, but it doesn't look like the host is able to access the storage device it is serving. Do you see anything in the kernel logs on your development host during the process that might indicate a problem there?
