Allan, I have just loaded OpenSAK on my Linux Mint test machine and I am very impressed as to how far you have taken this. I have also just read your posts on the GSAK forum and the offer of help from lignumaqua (Mike) and The CEO (Remco). OpenSAK has been long awaited.

I saw that comment about their willingness to help and saw your very good post introducing OpenSAK. Looking forward to hearing how the collaboration works out. The two main people who maintain GSAK and answer questions on the forum are just great with all their knowledge and willingness to maintain the help and GSAK community over the years. Plus there are several power GSAK users that help solve issues, develop and support macros, etc. For those like myself who have used GSAK for more years than I want to admit, the fear that it will someday just stop working is a big one. (I just checked the days used on my GSAK help splash screen and it says 7,703 days)! Can 21+ years even be possible? That is only a year longer than I have been geocaching so I guess I fortunately found GSAK very quickly. I did not realize GSAK had been in existence that long. I am not a super knowledgeable user of GSAK, but I use it almost every day. I use the API and geocaching.com access heavily. I also take advantage of several user developed macros from the GSAK library that I use all the time. (GarminExport.gsk most healvily, but several others as well). I sure hope OpenSAK has smooth sailing getting API access. And that developers are able to get their macros, etc. to work like they do in GSAK. I am glad you are starting a forum here rather than only using Facebook.
