tccCheck UI Screen Recording not updating.

I have tested the .app build under macOS 15 Sequoia and macOS 26 Tahoe. I noticed under Sequoia that the tccCheck UI does not put a check mark next to Screen Recording after enabling Screen Recording for MeshAgent in Privacy and Security. I think it's just an issue with the tccCheck UI logic. Under Tahoe it does put the check mark next to Screen Recording. Under both OSes remote desktop does work and Privacy and Secruity > Screen Recording do show MeshAgent is enabled.

I do not know if the tccCheck UI has the same issue under any other previous macOS version as I have only tested the above two major releases.

@geg-ck Can you confirm that you're having the issue after fully resetting your Screen recording TCC?

Does it happen on a fresh build of Sequoia?

The live update of the tcc status is a bear because Apple only provides a cached view of tthe screen recording status with a direct API call. Basically the tccCheck window has to check all the window names every few seconds ultil it can read most of them it's kind of nuts but ¯_(ツ)_/¯ it's what other remote desktop app like splashtop do.

@geg-ck I was able to reproduce. Seems like it only happens when -tccCheck is called as the daemon (at daemonstartup and session start). At this point I'm going to shrug my sholders at this one. I'll make sure to add a fall back check of the Apple API check. It means it won't be live updated, but it should see that Screen Recording is enabled on the second tccCheck firing.

Issues like this is the reason for the "Do not remind me again" exists. It writes a disableTccCheck=1 to the db and the check doesn't fire again. You can manually ad a disableTccCheck=1 to your .msh. If you clicked "Do not remind me again", you can add disableTccCheck=0 to your .msh to bring it back. The .msh always beats the .db. You can also use --disableTccCheck=1 during install to insert automatically in your .msh.

@geg-ck so this nerd sniped me ... well I don't think opening a bug on an issue on code I'm building is actually nerd sniping, but close enough ... this is fixed in the most recent commit in the PR branch ... _100-PR-macOS-MeshAgent-Rebuild.

I've tested in 26, 15, and 14. There is a small regression for 26 in that the Accessibility "Open Settins" button is not correctly calling the "this app wants to control your computer" which populates the Accesibilyt TCC UI for you in System Settings.app. As it stands, I'll take it over the entire detection and ui being broken in < macOS 26

@geg-ck so yeahi figured out a solution to the Accessibilty button. Seriously that "simple" window is it's own logic puzzel

Regardless this is fixed in the most recent commit in the PR branch ... _100-PR-macOS-MeshAgent-Rebuild.

Please build and test. If it works for you I'll close the issue.

It has taken me a little time get back to this project. But, unfortunately, now I am having some issues even getting the rebuilt app to run. Not a dev. So having to trial and error a bit. I did fully re-download the release and make again. But CTRL+launching the app isn't launching anything. I get prompted for the password but that's it. I'm fairly certain it's something I'm doing wrong.

It will run from the Terminal but it won't run from the desktop. But, running it from the Terminal I did upgrade and the basic functions are working. However, I am unable to confirm if the tccCheck UI is fixed. When launching from Terminal, Terminal because the launching app for purposes of tccCheck instead of MeshAgent.

There were some changes to the build process and I directly addressed the gui installer not firing. Yes it is asking for admin authorization now before installing so it can read your currnt .msh file for the disable upgrade and disable tcc settings.

I re-downloaded your code and it worked well for me.

Then I wanted to look at another bug I was seeing and some feature functionality I thought it needed. I worked with Claude in Antigravity to make these changes. In summary: changes to the versioning system to include a build number to avoid confusion with multiple builds occurring in the same day and to correctly display this version number in the Get Info dialog and the upgrade section of the installer (before it just kept saying Unknown), I noticed a bug where the View button the .msh file was truncated, then added an Uninstall Function to the UI (so now, Install, Upgrade, and Uninstall).

Not exactly certain how to pass these changes back to you, or if you are interested in the changes.

I'm very grateful for all the work you did on this project thus far and hope to see your work get folded back in the main distribution.
