OAI-PMH Feeds

In our ongoing effort to make KCWorks a key provider of reviewable content to DHNow, I've been watching their release updates. To date they have not implemented RSS feeds, but they have implemented OAI-PMH endpoints.

Would it be possible to work with those?

Thanks for sharing the documentation. These XML-based endpoints are functionally equivalent to RSS feeds - they don't share the same XML metadata structure, but they can be parsed by similar sorts of tools. And it seems to me that the records have the kind of "feedish" data that we would need to integrate into the existing PF workflow - timestamps, descriptions, creator/author, etc. Also, as you suggest, building OAI-PMH support into PF will give us support not just for KCWorks, but also for other platforms that make content available in the OAI-PMH format.

Let's talk about implementing this in the next round of feature development. In the meantime, as a way to help with proofs-of-concept, perhaps you could share a couple of specific KCWorks feed URLs that you might actually want to use on DHNow. They would be helpful fodder for my initial work. Like, is there a way to request a list of records matching a search term like "digital humanities"? I looked through the documents at https://inveniordm.docs.cern.ch/reference/oai_pmh/ but I couldn't find anything obvious.

Thanks, Boone. I'll work on pulling some stuff together. I think we might only be able to do it by subscribing to particular collections. More soon.

I think what we need to do is subscribe to the records of individual collections, which is easy to do by appending the name of the collection to &set=community- end of the URL.
