Texture issue on AMD GPU?

I’m experiencing some issues with the shader patch for the game. Apparently, there are texture issues that occur when using this mod. I tried to mess around with some settings but nothing helped for me. I also tried different version of the mod like 1.5 1.6 and the current one. My game is completly clean, i have no other mods or even map mods, just the shader mod.

I already saw someone else here who is facing the same issue like me and i also have an AMD GPU: AMD RX6700XT (24.2.1)

Can confirm I'm getting the same issues on my 6800XT running the latest GPU drivers.

I really do wish I could say that it would be but I just don't have a way to reproduce this issue and as a result I have no clue what is actually going wrong. Sadly the only GPUs I have ready access to are a very old (TeraScale) AMD mobile GPU in an old laptop (which from when I last tested doesn't have this issue) and the (also slightly dated) Nvidia one in my PC. (And also technically an even old Kelper GPU too but that won't help here).

If necessary i can provide some help, if there is anything i can do or give let me know. I have some basic modding experience in SWBF1 ( i worked on SWBF EGM). I also have some sort of skript and coding experience.

If you can get and share a RenderDoc (https://renderdoc.org/) capture of a frame with the issue that might allow some debugging. Or it might not still not reproduce in the capture on my PC but it also could be a viable starting point for investigating if it does reproduce in the capture.

The latest release contains an option (Use Direct3D 11 on 12) that can be used to somewhat workaround this. Given that it's not a true fix though I will leave this (and #138) open.

PrismaticFlower I have no idea what black magic you used or did but after i enabled Use Direct3D 11 on 12 the weird texture issues seem to have gone away idk why or how but i'm just glad i can enjoy this game again now on my AMD card thank you so much!!!! <3 <3 <3

I've still not been able to figure out what causes this. The only thought I've had is maybe the GPU driver detects the game's executable name and turns on some workaround setting that messes with Shader Patch because the driver is expecting the unmodded game. It doesn't sound likely but earlier this month I did make a special build of Shader Patch that uses AMD GPU Services to initialize the D3D11 device. This let's Shader Patch pass info to the driver to hopefully let it know it's not regular BF2.

The issue of the person who first tested this over in the Discord was not fixed by this. But it was a different issue to the one most commonly talked about here. So I will leave it here for others to test. If it fixes anything for you do let me know!

This build specifically is based on v1.10.0 so the bug of terrain not receiving shadows will be present unfortunately. If it solves the issue for anyone though I will incorporate it into the main release and make a proper up to date build.

If you test this be sure to disable Use Direct3D 11 on 12 before doing so.

I tried using RenderDoc to analyze SWBF2, but as soon as I start capturing a game rendering frame, the game crashes immediately.
