Import from aCar - units

Hello, I use aCar and want to try Fuelio. I see the note that the converter only supports liters and l/100 km. Is this still true?

In the current aCar, I see that I can convert the consumption, but the units in my records remain in gallons. I tried changing countries, thinking it might change the units, but it didn't. Doesn't seem to be a way to change the fuel units anymore.

Does this mean I cannot use the converter and must use a manual csv import? Is there a csv template that I can use?

aCar support is basically reverse engineered and units work is mostly guessed.

Last week I actually added support for MPG in UK as fuel consumption unit, so you can try to convert your backup anyway, worst case, it will throw "unknown unit error". Best case - you'd get CSV file to import into fuelio :)

If the conversion fails and you are willing to share your backups, I may work on missing parts.

Finally got around to trying this and I had no errors converting the data or importing into Fuelio. However, I am noticing some abnormalities.

One, the timeline isn't in order. The non-fuel items are shown in order first then the fuel items. The dates are correct, but the order isn't. Is this simply how Fuelio displays the data in the timeline?

Two, not all my cost items are showing up in the timeline. For one car I have only 2 non-fuel entries, both were imported but only one shows up in the timeline.

Three, it is not picking up the fuel type or the station out of aCar. Not necessarily a big deal, but I thought I'd note it.

Four, it's not picking up on missed fill ups.

Lastly, in aCar I can assign multiple categories to a single record. For example, if I did an oil change and air filter in one setting, I could enter them together as one cost and assign both categories. Fuelio does not seem to support that, so it picks up the first category and assigns that. I suspect this is not an issue with the converter as much as a difference in how the database is structured. My guess is that I'd have to correct this in my data before or after the conversion, correct? With history on 19 vehicles in aCar, that's a big task. :-D

I'd be willing to share my data if you want to experiment with it. I'd ask only that it not be shared with anyone else. Let me know where to send it.
