BUG: Nomore internet when server goes into maintanance #28

Hi there,

please consider fixing the following bug:

  1. I am connected to a VPN server (Wireguard) on iOS via the ProtonVPN App (VPN Plus, yearly subscription.)
  2. I have not opened the ProtonVPN for a "long time", and everything is working fine
  3. The server i am connected to suddenly goes into maintenance
(annoyingly, there is no notification whatsoever when this happens, they just disconnect you out of the blue.)
  4. I open the ProtonVPN app
  5. I am now presented with this screen - see screenshot [1]
  6. I can't login, because i have no internet

issues

  1. So, now i have to go somewhere deep in the iOS setting, disable the "Connect on Demand" toggle for the Proton VPN profile (non-technical people are not even aware how to find this), and connect to an insecure Wi-Fi (in a hotel for example) to be able to log back into Proton... which of course leaks a whole bunch of other Apps too.
I have seen this issue happen multiple times, on multiple iOS devices.

  2. Implement Push notification before servers go into maintenance, so people are not disconnected while in the middle of a purchase, etc. and are made aware.

Thank you.
