First of all, thank you so much for this tool! I tried converting Fairview (that is one of the default regions that i didn't opened before) and its terrain was superb! Unfortunately i noticed some quirks that i decided to report, plus some tips, i wonder if you still work on that tool, if positive, here's what i thought of:

  • When i tested Fairview, i noticed that the sea level is too high compared to the default Minecraft one (Y = 63). I suggest you to either tie SC4's sea level with that value when converting or, if possible, add such option on the menu.
  • Also, the sea generates as a single layer of water, with all below being air (image below):
    Image;
  • For biomes, i was thinking: what about detecting the height of the terrain, and when its above a certain height it changes the biomes to mountains? And also detect tree BATs and if there is a cluster with considerable size, change the biome to Forest to add more variety to the world;
  • About underground generation, don't know how you are generating. What i know is that if the game detects an "old-style" world bottom (ending in y=0 and with a bedrock layer on it), and the Minecraft version present on the level.dat is from before 1.18, it will replace the bedrock with deepslate and generate itself the rest of the depths until y=-64 (that is the current bottom of the world since Caves & Cliffs); this would allow the game to generate that part of the underground system using their algorithms, but above that until near-surface i really don't know how it could be done.
  • Finally, add an option for the Minecraft worldgen to generate the terrain beyond the SC4 region (instead of ending the terrain with a cliff to the void). Allow the user to specify the seed and preset like Default, Large Biomes, Amplified, Buffet or Superflat, also allowing preset codes for the presets that allow it (the ones with 'More World Options..." button enabled in Minecraft client).
