qviewer upload validation should be more user friendly

Project is not valid is not enough detail.

I tried uploading with RSCLI and got a much more informative message:
RSCLI failed with error: Bounds file cannot be larger than 200KB: project_bounds.geojson is 459.2KB

Actually, there is some more, but the presentation is not user-friendly. After you click cancel on the uploader dialog, you can see a small modal (window title: QGIS3) . Clicking on the word More opens an Error Details window, as shown.

Interestingly, not the same detail as I get with RSCLI.

Note, After I fix the geojson size, RSCLI gives me the same validation messages as the uploader tool.

After more testing: the uploader will also complain about the geojson size, but only after other validations and actually uploading the files. Here again, the information is actually provided to the user, but buried in a log file:

So basically the CLI and the Uploader seem to have the same validation criteria but they check in a different order. The CLI will check the bounds size first (and not check anything else), whereas the uploader checks the rsxml first and bounds size later. And I'll rephrase this ticket - it's not that qviewer shold provide more information, it should provide it more up front.

That makes sense. The CLI and the python uploader are completely separate pieces of code written in node and python at different times. We can certainly try to make the experiences closer together.
