Error : Unable to find live system - With pre-patched ISO

Hi,

Thanks for the great work! I have a 16" Galaxy Book Edge X1E and recently tried the pre-patched ISO from the release, but I encountered an error. The Ubuntu splash screen appears, and after a while, the error shows up. When using the USB-A port, it just freezes on the splash screen, but with USB-C there’s no freeze, however, the same error occurs. Here is the full screenshot:

I used Rufus to flash the USB with the GPT option, trying both ISO and DD modes, but both resulted in the same issue. Could you help me figure out what I might be doing wrong?

Hi! Thanks for the report. You didn't do anything wrong with Rufus, this is a known hardware/kernel issue called the "squashfs USB boot wall".

During boot, the laptop's USB controller temporarily drops out. When this happens, Ubuntu loses connection to your USB stick, fails to read the live filesystem, and crashes (which causes the freeze or error you are seeing).

Because of this, you cannot install directly from a USB drive right now. To bypass it, you need to use the PXE (network boot) method we developed.

Please check the README/documentation for the PXE installation steps!

Could you share the direct link? Also, is it possible to run it live without installing it? I’d like to test it first before deciding to install, just to avoid any potential issues with my Windows.
