Problem with DEMO game recordings.

The game has long had a problem with demo recordings, and it's not entirely clear how to fix it.

Some older demos sometimes fail to launch because the demo file is older than the game level on the PC.

This happens with any version of the game, and for some reason, it also happens with demos recorded on the same device, with the same version of the game. I've reinstalled the game several times, but when transferring all my demos, I encountered problems with only a few demos recorded in 2024. (This is only counting those that were recorded by me.)
However, some older demos that weren't mine also won't play. I assume some older demos were simply recorded on an older version of the game, but I did check to see if older demos that weren't mine from version 1.05 would run on version 1.07 (both versions have the classic patch).
And the demo launched, despite the fact that the versions of the game are different, the demo was recorded in 2006, and was recorded on different devices.

What's strange is that even the demos that were recorded in 2009 without a patch somehow run on TSE.

On TSE, this problem seemed to exist with one demo, also from 2024, but later it simply disappeared.

Perhaps the TFE demos have too significant a version difference, but I can't verify this.

But I'd like to know if it's possible to completely eliminate such problems?

Unfortunately, I cannot make old demos work on newer versions of the worlds because the engine essentially treats those worlds as completely different files. It would be the same as substituting some world with another completely unrelated world.

As for the issues here, if you have Revolution mounted to your game, its TFE levels may conflict with the levels from the actual TFE game, and vice versa. Unmount either game to make and see it works again (or unmount both games if you have your own TFE levels adapted for TSE as a mappack).

And if you have recorded those 2024 demos on an older version of the patch, they may be incompatible with newer versions of the patch due to the differences in gameplay features (though there should be no problems if they were recorded on vanilla servers).
The only way to play them again would be to install the patch version that was used for recording them.
