How can I create a config file that overrides the modernz script-opts so that the config is "updatable"?

Every time a new ModernZ version releases, I download the files and edit a couple of things. How could I define these changes once so that they also work for the next update?

I have read this under "Configuration", but I'm not sure where I should place this file.

In your script-opts folder, create a file called modernz.conf

Then simply add the options you want changed in it, not all options. For example, your modernz.conf could contain only the following:

osc_on_seek=no
screenshot_button=yes
icon_style=outline

That way, you don't have to update modernz.conf everytime, just update modernz.lua.

Ok, good to know, thank you. I deleted everything except for my specific changes in the .conf file.
How is it possible to change the Idle text, for example?

I currently have a line in modernz.conf:
idle = "my text",

And this didn't work

That is not an option.

You can do that by including English language locale.

• Download modernz-locale.json
• Place it in your script-opts folder
• Edit modernz-locale.json to include a custom English language
• Change the phrase for "idle" to whatever you want.

Place the following right before the French "fr" line:

If I may suggest, name it something different than "en". for example: "enCustom"

Then in your modernz.conf add language=enCustom

To avoid any possible conflicts from updates in the future.
