Asking for login on each boot

On both my OSX and PC installs, when I reboot I get the login dialouge and I need to reenter the password and hit enter

Is there a way for it to keep the password and auto-login? I am not using the encrypted option right now

It doesn't store the physical password; instead, it stores the session ID, which remains valid until the server is restarted.
